Uniting to turn the tide on shoplifting in Norwich

Good morning from The Seeker

Shoplifting is on the rise in our city.

Official figures whether from the Office of National Statistics, the British Retail Consortium, or Norfolk Constabulary itself all show an upward trend.

But as we will see the numbers themselves only tell part of the story.

I have been speaking to Norfolk's Police and Crime Commissioner Giles Orpen-Smellie and city centre retailers about the problem - but crucially hearing about what solutions they are looking at and how to support each other, too.

Finally, I've discovered how retailers are joining forces via the Norwich Business Improvement District to pool intelligence and spot trends, though some fear it may simply be shifting the problem to other parts of the city.

Thank you for supporting The Seeker!
